Tryg’s CSR reporting follows the structure of our CSR policy and documents goals and results within four thematic areas: Climate, Prevention, Inclusion and Well-being.
The thematic areas create a link to the long history of Tryg as insurance company and to the non-life insurance products and services that we offer our customers. Each thematic area should be seen as related to one or more of the principles in UN Global Compact and the requrirements to prcesses and assessments in the Global Reporting Initiative.
Our operations and markets are located in the Nordic region, and we thus assess our risk of violating human rights and laobur rights or being complicit to abuses of these rights as limited. In light of reports from a.o. the UN monitoring organs on human rights protection in the Nordic countries, we have chosen to concentrate on protection and promotion of the following rights and freedoms:
-
Anti-discrimination
-
Freedom of association and collective bargaining
-
Privacy and personal data protection
Our efforts in this field is relevant not only in relation to internal affairs, but also vis-à-vis our customers and suppliers. In investments and procurement we consider thoroughly the risk for being complicit in child labour and forced labour.
Anti-corruption is prioritized area as we faces risks of fraud and favouritism as part of daily activities and relation to customers and suppliers. It is dealt with especially with the Group unit for Security.
Compliance with legislation in general, and especially in relation to good governance, competition and anti-trust law, marketing, products and services, employee health and security, discrimination and violation of indigenous peoples rights is an integrated part of the Group Legal Department.
Good corporate governance
We comply with Danish recommendations concerning corporate governance and consider a transparent and solid governance structure as a prerequisite for sound and relevant CSR efforts. We reported on CSR since 2006 as a part of the financial annual report, and since 2009 as an independent report.
Tryg is a meber of the Danish Insurance Assocation which has as overall goal to seek political influence on behalf of the industy on the development of financial sector.
